How to Get to Juanchaco from Cali and Buenaventura
Juanchaco is on Colombia’s Pacific coast in the municipality of Buenaventura. There is no road for the final part of the journey: most visitors reach the community by passenger speedboat from Buenaventura’s tourist dock.
The route in three stages
1. Reach Cali
Cali is the most common gateway for domestic and international travellers. From the airport or city, continue to Buenaventura by road. Allow extra time for traffic and avoid building a tight connection to a boat departure.
2. Travel from Cali to Buenaventura
Buses leave from Cali’s main terminal. Journey times vary with traffic, road works, and weather. Once in Buenaventura, ask for the Muelle Turístico rather than assuming your driver knows the name of a particular boat company.
3. Take a passenger boat to Juanchaco
